In this Brooklyn Heights neighborhood we geared the renovation to make use of ample art deco details already present in the building. In common areas original tile and metalwork was maintained and augmented with wainscoting, wallpaper, and brass accent lighting. A unique signage and furniture package was created to accompany the architectural renovation. All areas of the 10-unit building in underwent a substantial renovation including lobby, hallways, units, and private and public yards. In the apartments themselves the kitchen were relocated and optimized with upgraded stainless steel appliances. Efficient organization space allowed for the addition of a washer/dryer and dishwasher, which the former layouts lacked. Kitchen islands adjacent to the french doors are quart marble counter tops with a classic subway tile backsplash. The kitchen is finished with with soft gray shaker style cabinetry and brass fixtures. The bathrooms are designed with black accent tile and white subway tile on wall and tub surround. The building, while being fully updated and restored, has its classic details maintained and enhanced by the careful selection of colors and materials throughout the renovation.
